1. Pick-up & Transfer

You'll be picked up from your hotel in La Ceiba and driven to their operations center in the Cangrejal River Valley. The drive itself is scenic, passing through rural communities with views of the mountains.

2. Safety Briefing & Gearing Up

This is a critical and reassuring part of the day. You'll be outfitted with a helmet, a life jacket, and a paddle. The guides will give a comprehensive safety talk covering:

• How to sit and paddle in the raft.

• Basic commands (e.g., "Forward," "Back paddle," "Stop," "Hold on!").

• What to do if you fall out of the raft (the "swimmer's position").

• How to get back into the raft.

3. The Descent: The Rafting Itself!

The adventure begins! You'll navigate a series of named rapids, which can include exciting stretches like:

• "The Dinosaur"

• "The Mine Field"

• "Coco Bongo"

Between the heart-pounding rapids, there are calm sections where you can catch your breath, admire the lush jungle scenery, look for wildlife (like birds and sometimes monkeys), and even jump in for a swim if it's safe to do so.

4. The Finale & Refreshments

The tour usually ends at a point where the river calms down. You'll get out of the raft, often to be greeted with fresh, local fruit and cold water. It's a perfect time to relax and share stories about the biggest rapids.

5. Return & Lunch (Optional)

You'll be driven back to the operations center, where you can use the changing rooms and showers. Many tour packages include or offer an optional, delicious, traditional Honduran lunch (like grilled chicken, rice, beans, and plantains) at a nearby lodge, which is highly recommended.
